On March 15, 2002 Steve and Sue Edwards made a Memorial Dedication for Annie

Annie burst into our lives October 15, 1999 and left us February 25, 2001. Throughout her illness, loss of eyesight and complicated surgery, she fought with every ounce of her being to survive. The surgery restored her health and her eyesight, though impaired, slowly returned. She spent her days chasing squirrels and living life to the fullest. Seizures presented her biggest risk. Six months after her surgery, a seizure claimed her life. We miss you, Ann.

We STILL miss that little girl every day.

In the last part of her life, when Henri's renal disease began to take its final toll, Henri stayed with us on several occasions when Sue and Steve were out of town. It was during these visits that we became especially attached to her. As we mourn Henri's passing, we pay tribute to her unique spirit, and honor her for a life well lived.

On December 25, 2001 Vondy Pope made a Honor Dedication for Terrie Whitt

Our beloved dog, Gretta died 3 days after having puppies, from an intestinal virus that looked a lot like parvo. As heart breaking as that was we had very little time to grieve because of the 3 puppies that we had to take care of. My sister, Terrie, was a big support, with her help and the help of two other dedicated dog lovers we raised 3 beautiful puppies who have their mother's beautiful disposition. So thank you, Terrie, for caring like you do. (She also adopted one of the puppies.)

On October 17, 2001 Pam Sullivan made a Honor Dedication for Amy
On October 17, 2001 Pam Sullivan made a Honor Dedication for Amy

All animals are special to Pam, a dedicated CARE volunteer and foster, but there is something extra special about Amy. Amy came from a litter of 8 golden retriever mix pups, but her short, basset hound legs caused her to be passed over as her litter mates were adopted one by one, leaving her alone and unwanted - until Pam came along. Those people who decided against this oddly built golden didn't know what they were missing. Amy grew into an extraordinary companion, with an outgoing, friendly personality. Pam and her husband, Jerry, got far more from this 'black sheep' of the family than they could ever have expected.

Recently, Amy developed a knee problem, and surgery pointed toward an unspecified form of cancer. Pam and Jerry are devastated by the analysis, and are studying ways to battle the disease. Anyone reading this likely has experienced the pain of watching a beloved pet fight a serious illness, and we at CARE ask you to keep Amy, Pam, and Jerry in your thoughts and prayers.
